Wilderness Survival – Dec. ’07

In December 2007 the troop traveled to Prince William Forest for their “Wilderness Survival” camping weekend. The troop practiced wilderness survival techniques and survival strategies for staying alive in the wilderness. One of the most enjoyable activities was the construction of “debris shelters”. Several scouts spent the night sleeping in their shelters. This proved to be one of the most enjoyable camping trips of the year. Photos by Neil Bonner.

Scoutmaster’s Corner: July 2008

I am very pleased to announce a new Eagle. Danny Rosenmund has completed his Eagle Board of Review. Please join me in congratulating him. In fact many of you were at the triple Eagle Court of Honor to do just that. Three of our Eagles chose to celebrate together. These three guys were Bear Cubs and Webelos together, then they each took very different paths, but all three paths led to earning Eagle in Troop 1970! Congratulations once again to Ryan Gurtz, Ryan Housley, and Danny Rosenmund.
