Virginia Beach Troop Outing

Update (15 Sept): Download Permission Slip, Download Scout Bucks Form

The September troop outing is to Virginia Beach is fast approaching – Sept 27 & 28.  Permission slips will be coming out and we will be getting a count of scouts and adults who will be participating.  We would like to get a start to the process by trying to get a head count of adults who plan to attend.  If any adults who are planning to go would send me a note  or let me know at the next troop meeting it would be greatly appreciated.

We are also looking for adults to volunteer to be adult grub master for the September trip.  This is a great way to support the troop.  It is an activity that parents can perform that allows the scout master corps to focus on program execution and scout development.  If you are interested please drop me a note or see me at the meeting.  If you have questions and want to understand what needs to be done, I can answer you questions.  This is an important function for any troop outing and shows our support to the uniformed adult leaders and is a short duration commitment.

YIS,
Bill Martin

Welcome to BSA Troop 1970 – Reston, Virginia

Since 1965, Troop 1970 has been “Keeping the Tradition”. The troop takes pride in offering a “traditional” scouting program. The key features of such a program are adherence to the patrol method by the scouts, participation in one or more outing per month, participation in an extended period of camping each year (summer camp), and service to the community.
