Troop 1970 went to Camp Rodney in North East, Maryland for their 2008 summer camp. The camp sits on the Chesapeake so activities ranged from sailing to wood carving, from nature walks to canoeing outposts.

An Eagle Court of Honor was convened at 3:30 pm on May 25, 2008, at the United Christian Parish Church in Reston, Virginia, for three scouts who earned the Eagle rank. These scouts are Ryan G., Ryan H., and Dan R. Each scout had a very interesting display of photos and memorabilia relating to key events on his trail to Eagle.

The May campout for Troop 1970 scouts and scouters was on a farm located on the outskirts of Winchester, VA, about 70 miles from Reston. A subset of the 22 scouts on the campout were working on satisfying the requirements for a merit badge in Animal Science, including a visit to a farm where goats (or sheep) are raised.
