This outing consists of bike rides of various lengths (see permission schedule) on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Park (C&O) towpath, overnight camping at the canal or battlefield campsites at Antietam, Maryland, and Scout Activities. Some Scouts may choose activities (camping only) which do not include biking. The troop will operate two trailers to transport bikes to the departure points.

The camporee is October 3 -5, 2008 at Claude Moore Farm in Ashburn, Virginia and the theme is Scoutish Highland Games.

The September troop outing is to Virginia Beach is fast approaching – Sept 27 & 28. Please let us know the adults who plan to attend.

Our native trees, ferns and wildflowers are under attack by invasive exotic plants like English Ivy, Japanese Honeysuckle and Bamboo. That is why we need warriors like you to join us in rescuing Reston’s beautiful parkland from these aggressive plants. These fast growing, invasive plants escape from people’s yards and seriously threaten local ecosystems, taking away vital food and habitat from already stressed wildlife populations. Please, spend a couple hours in our parkland protecting our forests every 4th Saturday of each month as we help restore Reston’s forests to their natural state.
