Reston Multicultural Festival is seeking volunteers! Saturday, September 6, 2008

Volunteer Hours: 10:30AM – 5:30PM.   Must be 13 or older to volunteer, younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Location: Lake Anne Plaza, Reston, VA

The Multicultural Festival is an all-day celebration of international cultures that brings together thousands of people to dance, eat and celebrate diversity.  With participation of numerous groups that are representative of our community the event will promote appreciation and respect, serving to remind all of us of the value and strength of a diverse community.

Festival Volunteer Schedule: Please specify which shift(s) you would like to work, if you are taking on more than 2 shifts we will provide you with plenty of breaks.
7:00am – 11:00am – Set-up
9:30 – 12:30 – Vendors Check-in
10:30 – 3:30pm – specific jobs at the festival (see job descriptions below)
3:00 – 5:30pm – specific jobs at the festival (see job descriptions below)
5:30pm – 8:00pm – break-down

Festival Job Descriptions:
Greeters – Passing out programs and surveys
Parking Attendants – control access to parking lot, directing the public to parking areas around the plaza. Volunteer must be 18 or older.
Floaters – Relieving volunteers for breaks, must have flexibility.
Children’s Area –  Assisting children with hands-on arts & crafts.
RA Concession – Assist with selling popcorn, hotdogs & cotton candy.
Set-up/Break Down – Set-up crew in the morning will help with decorating the plaza, setting up tables, chairs, table cloths.  Please note: set-up will take place as early as 7:00am and break down will begin Saturday evening at 5:30pm.
